1. Our responsibility and privacy contact
Big G Electric is responsible for the personal information under its control. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information is Marisa Timmler. Send privacy questions, requests or complaints to info@biggelectric.ca, addressed to the Privacy Officer, or call (514) 941-6061.
This policy operates subject to Québec’s private-sector privacy law and other applicable privacy laws. It does not reduce any legal right or remedy.
2. Information you provide
Our contact forms request your name, phone number, email address, project address, service needed and message. You may also upload photos or documents. The form identifies required fields. We also receive information you provide by email, telephone or during service arrangements, such as project specifications, scheduling instructions and records needed for estimates, invoices and warranty requests.
Provide only information relevant to your request. Remove unrelated faces, documents, access codes and location metadata from attachments where possible. Do not send payment-card details, identity documents or other sensitive information through the general contact form. Provide another person’s information only with appropriate authority.
3. Why we use information
We use necessary information to answer inquiries, assess projects, prepare estimates, arrange visits, perform requested work and provide related customer support. Where relevant, we use service records to administer billing, warranties or rebate assistance you request; maintain required business records; address disputes; protect our systems against misuse; and meet legal obligations.
Information collected for a request is not permission for unrelated uses. A new purpose requiring consent will be explained separately before that use. Any use or disclosure without consent must fall within an applicable legal exception.
4. Your consent and choices
We seek consent appropriate to the information and purpose where required by law, including express consent for sensitive information. Simply browsing this website does not authorize unrelated collection, use or disclosure.
You may decline optional information or contact us to withdraw consent for future uses or disclosures. We will explain any effect on your request. We will not condition service on unnecessary information. If information is needed to conclude or perform a contract, or its collection is legally authorized, refusal may prevent us from completing the relevant service. Withdrawal does not undo prior lawful processing or override required recordkeeping.
5. Website technology and third-party resources
The site currently uses no analytics trackers, advertising pixels or marketing automation. Our page scripts do not set cookies or use local storage. This does not mean that hosting or third-party infrastructure receives no technical information.
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, styling software from the Tailwind CDN and icons from unpkg. Images may also load from Unsplash, or from Placehold.co when local generator images fail. These requests disclose technical data such as your IP address and browser/request information to the relevant provider. Hosting and delivery systems may also record requested resources, dates and security-related logs.
Normandin Systems develops, hosts and manages the site. Contact forms are configured for Netlify Forms, which may process submitted information and attachments when enabled by the hosting setup. External websites you choose to visit have their own privacy practices.
7. Processing outside Québec
Technology providers may process or store information outside Québec, including elsewhere in Canada or the United States. Information may then be subject to the laws and lawful access powers of those jurisdictions. Before entrusting personal information to a provider outside Québec or communicating it there, we are required to assess privacy impacts, establish adequate protection and enter into the required written agreement. Applicable notice and consent requirements also apply. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about the providers involved in your request.
8. Protection, incidents and retention
Personal information must be protected by reasonable measures suited to its sensitivity, purpose, amount and format. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Contact our Privacy Officer promptly if you suspect information sent to us has been compromised. Where required, we take steps to reduce harm and prevent recurrence, maintain an incident register and notify affected individuals and the Commission d’accès à l’information when an incident presents a risk of serious injury.
Retention depends on the request, ongoing work, warranty needs, applicable accounting or legal duties and necessary dispute records. Once these purposes are fulfilled and required retention ends, information is securely destroyed, or anonymized only where legally permitted and in accordance with applicable requirements.
9. Access, correction and other rights
You may request access to your personal information and correction of inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information, subject to legal exceptions. Where applicable, you may request computerized information collected from you in a structured, commonly used technological format, or its transfer to a legally authorized recipient, excluding created or inferred information and subject to the law’s conditions.
Send a written request to our Privacy Officer. We may verify your identity or authority before releasing information. We respond to access and correction requests in writing within 30 days of receipt. Any refusal will identify the legal basis and available recourse. You may also request deletion, cessation of dissemination or de-indexing where the conditions established by law are met.
10. Concerns and policy updates
Send a privacy complaint to our Privacy Officer with the relevant facts and your contact details. We will examine the concern and communicate our response. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or exercise any other applicable remedy without first completing our complaint process.
We publish policy changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be brought to your attention as required by law, and new consent will be obtained when necessary. A policy update alone does not authorize a new use requiring your consent.
